Robert Durst Officially Charged with Murder of Susan Berman

Following his arrest this weekend, Robert Durst – a subject of HBO’s true crime series The Jinx, a suspect for murdering three people, is now officially charged with murdering a woman, Susan Berman, in 2000. Durst is facing the death penalty if he’s found guilty, since he’s charged with the first-degree murder, according to USA Today .

Adding to irony, it all happened just a day after finale of The Jinx, when Durst said (not realizing he still had his mic on) “What the hell did I do? Killed ‘em all, of course!” Durst, however, still maintains his innocence, and although he’s still cooperating with authorities, it is all with the purpose to ‘end all the rumor and all the speculation and have a trial’, according to his lawyer.

Durst is still held in New Orleans, despite earlier reports that he’s set to be taken to California (where
Berman’s murder had taken place). He was arrested in New Orleans this weekend for carrying a gun and marijuana.

We can, however, expect him to be transported to California soon enough, where we’ll again have one more of those high-profile murder cases the press loves to cover.
